The Truce that Defied Orders

The Christmas truce is one of our favorite stories of Christmas.

"But without the state we would have bloodshed and chaos." This real historic event gives us a different view of reality, that humanity strives to get along with one another even when the state tells us to hate each other.

The Christmas truce was a series of widespread (but unofficial) ceasefires along the Western Front of World War I around Christmas 1914.
